This, the oldest and one of the largest open-air museums in Central Europe, presents an extensive collection of folk buildings and organises interesting events, demonstrations of crafts and customs. It consists of three parts. In the Wooden Town, the oldest part of the museum, there is the important Valašský Slavín. It is a place of remembrance and reverence of the life and work of important personalities. Here you can honour, for example, the memory of the legendary athlete Emil Zátopek. More than 70 buildings, which represent a typical settlement in Wallachia, are concentrated in the
Wallachian village. In Mlýnská dolina you will see a water mill and a sawmill in action. The museum is open all year round.
