Every year on 11 November, young “St. Martin’s wines” are blessed at Masaryk Square in Uherské Hradiště to the sound of bells. The ceremony is a symbolic thank you to nature for the harvest and to the winemakers for their work. Saint Martin appears on a white horse and hands the wine to a priest to symbolically bless the new harvest. Tasting the wine from the new harvest is one of the most popular traditions.
