Following the Bata Story in Zlín

Explore Bata’s skyscraper and the mobile office. From there you may go to the 14│15 Bata Institute and walk around the Department Store to see the architectural gems of Zlín. For a more adventurous experience, visit animation workshops at Kudlov, the Zlín Zoo, or the nearby Lukov Castle.

In Zlín you will learn that Bata is not just shoes. Don’t miss the view from Bata’s skyscraper and a ride in the elevator office of the company’s boss at the building 21, J. A. Bata Street (tour length: about 60 minutes), a tour of the Museum of Southeast Moravia in the nearby building 14 (about 60 minutes), and the Tomas Bata Memorial (40 to 60 minutes), which is in a walking distance of ca 400 meters past the Department Store. You can also take part in guided tours of the city focused on the Bata architecture – ZONE ZLÍN (June to September, more information at www.ic-zlin.cz).

The Film Knot project offers experiential animation workshops for children and adults (Saturdays and Sundays at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 3 pm). A tour of the Zlín Zoo can last from 2 hours to a whole day. From the Zoo you can continue on foot along the red marked hiking trail to Lukov Castle (a distance of approx. 5 km), where you will enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding woods and valleys.
