Holešov

Šachova synagogue in Holešov dates back to the 16th century and is one of the few synagogues with preserved so-called Polish decorations. This unique monument to Jewish culture is open to the public. In the main hall, the beautifully wrought iron grille around the oratory from the 18th century attracts attention. In the building, the history of Jews in Moravia is presented in an exhibition entitled “Jews and Moravia. Jewish Culture Week is traditionally held here during the summer holidays.
